Jock Jam Megamix
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The "Jock Jam Megamix" is a megamix song released during the late nineties, which first goal was to help promote the Jock Jams series of dance compilation CDs. It consists of samples of songs and phrases from popular dance, eurodance and rap recordings, either sport-themed or not, that were released on the second volume of the Jock Jams compilation serie. Those are mixed together in a 3 minute megamix fashion, in a style that is very similar to the one used by the DJ and producer Nick Skitz (See the Skitzmix CD series).
This song received massive radio airplay when it was released, notably in United States and Canada, which is a rare opportunity for a dance mash-up. It appeared on the volume 3 of the Jock Jams series, even though most of the songs contained in this mix were released on the two previous volumes. This recording was released in late September of 1997. The creators are often labeled as "ESPN".
There is actually two other Jock Jam mixes besides this one, that were released on the two next installements of the serie. Those mixes didn't take benefit of the same popularity as the first one, though.
