JobStreet.com is the largest Online Talent Bank in Malaysia and one of the most established in the South and South-East Asian regions covering Malaysia, Singapore, India, the Philippines, Indonesia and Bangladesh.
JobStreet.com offers a comprehensive suite of interactive recruitment services connecting businesses with talented job seekers in the region. International and local Asian corporations increasingly recruit from JobStreet.com's ever-growing pool of top talents and manage their recruitment process through the Internet with JobStreet.com's own uniquely developed software application.
JobStreet.com was founded by Mark Chang in 1995 with just two employees in Penang, Malaysia. Today, the company is listed in the MESDAQ section of the Malaysian stock exchange (Bursa Malaysia) [Stock Code: JOBS] and it employs about 300 employees in six countries.
Chang, the company's Chief Executive Officer, obtained his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988 and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, USA in 1990.
He believes that by making the job market more transparent, people will be able to find the job that they really want and be happy and more productive in their work. Paraphrasing the famous Chinese philosopher Confucius (circa 551-479 BC), Chang believes greatly that "if you like what you do, you don't have to work a single day in your life".
Chang believes that happy people at work will create happy families at home and hence, they are able to contribute greater to society. If Chang has his way, he will want to help everyone to find their next job.
The company is also focused on Research and Development. Dr Albert Wong, who holds a doctorate from MIT, heads a team of about 20 software engineers located in Penang and Kuala Lumpur.
