Joanne Salley

Joanne Salley (born 1977 in Dungannon[1]) is a former Miss Northern Ireland winner, presently a television presenter.

Salley won the Miss Northern Ireland title in 1998, and came runner-up in the Miss United Kingdom pagaent. Salley, who trained in ballet for fifteen years, is past-pupil of the Royal School Dungannon and a graduate of Cambridge University. She once co-hosted The Big Breakfast and has been in some television advertisements, including one for the Peugeot 106. Since leaving her art teaching job at Harrow School in 2004, Salley has worked for Comic Relief does Fame Academy, Disney and as a researcher for the BBC's Hard Sell. She has now come back to her teaching of art at Harrow School and is there presently.

Salley plays Polo, ran the New York Marathon, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro[2]; and has visited the site of the world's highest active volcano in Ecuador where she helped build a school for an isolated community [3]. She has also worked for charities such as Breast cancer, Mencap and Asthma UK.

Salley is in a relationship with A Question of Sport captain and England rugby player, Matt Dawson.[4] The couple have been together since 2001. As a couple, they have appeared in Hello! magazine (issue no. 794),[5] and currently live in London.[6]
