João Batista da Silva

João Batista da Silva, best known as Batista (born in Porto Alegre, March 8, 1955) is a former Brazilian football (soccer) player in defensive midfielder role.
For Brazil national football team he won 38 international caps from 1978 to 1983, but did not score a goal. He played also in two editions of the FIFA World Cup, in 1978 and 1982.
