My desire is to aid Wikipedia in strengthening the entries of painters and sculptors. Like everyone else who uses the site, I, too, tend to be human, which means I will make errors. And mine are certainly not intended to be the last words, so it is expected and hoped that my contributions will receive the attention of better writers and editors.
The problems with a site which allows for contributions by academics and cranks alike (I slide comfortably into both categories) are obvious. But I can think of no better example than this: [2], which is substantially lengthier and much more fully sourced than this: [3]. Oy.
Nonetheless, I greatly enjoy making small contributions to the stew, and enjoy, also, the good work of others in the visual arts, whose labors I have noticed for months (and in no particular order): celithemis, ewulp, Johnbod, CARAVAGGISTI, Etacar11, Wetman, Ghirlandajo, Sparkit, Attilios, Outriggr, and Amandajm, to name but a few. If it is implicit that one writes for a small and select audience, then it is these editors I often have in mind. It is clear that you care about the entries to which you contribute.
