I wouldn't exactly characterize Hipparchos as "fixed up"; what it mainly was was a re-arragement of the paragraphs of the other one. (There were some additions, I moved those before making the redirect). Nor would I really call Hipparchus "broken" (although it could use some work, and had a lot of grammar problems that I think I mostly fixed).

The main thing is that first of all, we do not need two Wikipedia articles on the same person. What needs to be fixed in the Hipparchus article can be done in the existing article. Second, "Hipparchos" does not meet the criteria for naming conventions as it is a comparatively rare spelling in English, so it needs to be a redirect.
