Thank you for your effort in writing about Sally Perel (a member of my family). Indeed, the movie is much far from reality, as opposed to the book. Sally's family was not German-Jewish: his father was born in Zamosc, Poland (Lublin area), and his mother was born in Lithuania. The family moved to Germany about 1918-1920.
