From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

James Richard Journell, (born December 29, 1977), is an American baseball pitcher who plays for the Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He has also played for the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds. He was drafted by the Cardinals in the 4th round in 1999. His only Major League experience came with the Cardinals. On December 1, 2005 he signed a minor league contract with the Cincinnati Reds, but was later released on March 20, 2006, and was signed by the Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.

Journell was once a highly regarded prospect in the Cards minor league system (even considered the team's best prospect according to Baseball America), but he has yet to live up to his early potential. He was selected for the US team in the 2002 All-Star Futures Game.

An interesting fact about Jimmy is he has six toes on his left foot.
