Jim Van Engelenhoven is the Iowa State Representative from the 71st District. He has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 1999.
Van Engelenhoven currently serves on several committees in the Iowa House - the Labor committee; the Local Government committee; and the Natural Resources committee. His prior political experience includes serving as County Supervisor in Mahaska County from 1992-1998.
Van Engelenhoven was re-elected in 2006 with 6,587 votes, defeating Democratic opponent Catherine Haustein and Independent opponent Steve Fisher. [1]
