James"Jim" Simpson is an Obie award winning theater and film director, known for a commitment to avant-garde work. Founder of The Flea Theater in New York City. Husband of actress Sigourney Weaver, the couple has one daughter, Charlotte. Simpson is the son-in-law of actor Sylvester L. Weaver Jr. and actress Elizabeth Inglis.
