Jim Jackson is an American professional sportscaster. He currently serves as the TV play-by-play announcer for the Philadelphia Flyers. In addition, Jackson occasionally broadcasts play-by-play for hockey games on Versus.

Jackson, an upstate New York native, started his professional career broadcasting for the Utica Devils after graduating from Syracuse University. In 1993, he became play-by-play broadcaster for the Philadelphia Flyers, replacing Mike Emrick. 2006-07 marks his fourteenth season with the Flyers.

Due to the fact that Jackson basically filled the shoes of legendary Flyers broadcaster Gene Hart (Emrick only stayed for 5 years before taking the same job for the New Jersey Devils), Flyers fans initially had mixed opinions on Jackson, with some taking a neutral stance. Jackson's broadcasting style is neither flamboyant nor monotonous, but most would agree that his holding on to the position speaks volumes of Jackson's abilities.

Jackson covers the Flyers on Comcast SportsNet and The CW Philly 57 with Steve Coates and Keith Jones.

Beginning in 2007, Jackson will also be the pre-game and post-game host for Philadelphia Phillies broadcasts. He has previous baseball experience as radio play-by-play voice of the Utica Blue Sox of the New York-Penn League from 1986 to 1993 and of the Eastern League's Trenton Thunder in 2005.
