Jim Crow

Jim Crow can refer to several subjects:

• James F. Crow, Professor Emeritus of Genetics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
• The Jim Crow laws, state and local laws in the Southern and border states of the United States from 1876 to 1964 that required racial segregation.
• "Jump Jim Crow", the blackface song for which the laws were named, often sung by Thomas Dartmouth Rice, in 1828.
• A character from the 1941 film Dumbo named for the Rice character and the laws
• Jim Crow (typeface), from the 1890s
• Jim crow (tool), a tool for bending rails
• James Crow invented sour-mash in the 1820's @ Labrot & Graham Distillery, now named Woodford Reserve, Woodford County, Kentucky.

• Admiral William James Crowe, Jr., United States Navy (Ret.) (born January 2, 1925) is a former United States Navy admiral who served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
• Anthony Rosario (1976–January 12, 1995), an 18-year-old resident of New York City, born and raised in The Bronx, was killed (along with Hilton Vega (1973-1995)) by NYPD officers Patrick Brosnan and James Crowe, who were former bodyguards of mayor Rudolph Giuliani.
