Hamish Burke (born 1973) is an American illustrator who was born in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Hamish Burke, earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University in 1996. It was during Burke's three-year stay in Kansas City that he experienced his first live jazz performance while exploring the historic jazz district at 18th & Vine. He has used this experience as a source of inspiration. "I love the music, but I am also profoundly moved by the visual orchestrations before, during and after jazz performances," Burke explains. "There is an honest bond and trust between a musician and his instrument, as there is between a painter and his brush. It is my goal to capture this dynamic relationship on my canvases."

Burke has won several awards from the Society of Illustrators for his illustrations.

Burke counts among his most prominent influences John Sloan and George Bellows of the Ash Can School, John Singer Sargent, James McNeil Whistler, Edgar Degas, and Frank Duveneck.

Returning from Kansas City to the east coast in 2000, Burke moved to Brooklyn, NY where he presently resides with his wife Suzanne. He is represented by The Hallar Gallery in Kansas City, MO.

His most recent book is "Take Me Out To The Ballgame."
