Jim Ballantine (born November 6, 1967 in Union Lake, Michigan, USA) was an American ice hockey centre.

Ballantine started his career with the Columbus Chill in the ECHL. He also played for the Richmond Renegades (ECHL), Indianapolis Ice (IHL), and Dallas Freeze (CHL). His stats are not highly impressive, his biggest claim to fame is being the first player to wear a 3-digit number (101) in a profesional game. He passed away in 2002.
