Marjorie Jill Pettis is a New Zealand politician. She is a member of the Labour Party. Pettis has been the MP for Whanganui since the 1993 elections, but in 2005 she narrowly lost the seat. She was returned to Parliament however as a List MP. She has formerly served as the Labour Party's Senior Whip, and as Assistant Speaker of the House. Before entering politics, she worked as a nurse and as a finance officer at a bank.
