Jikawo

Jicawo is one of the 8 woredas in the Gambela Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Administrative Zone 3, Jicawo is bordered on the south by the Administrative Zone 2, on the west by Akobo, on the north by the Oromia Region, and on the east by the Administrative Zone 1. Towns in Jicawo include Telut.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 55,922, of whom 26,782 were males and 29,140 were females; 1,321 or 2.36% of its population are urban dwellers, which is greater than the Zone average of 2%. With an estimated area of 2,192.82 square kilometers, Jicawo has an estimated population density of 25.5 people per square kilometer, which is greater than the Zone average of 14.74.[1]
