[edit] Re: Prop 209, I-200, and MCRI

What if we made a template to cover all race preference/reverse discrimination topics? It could look something like Template:Dilbert or Template:HolmesNovels. Λυδαcιτγ 04:03, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

OK, I've got a couple of options here. As for the naming, I see what you mean, but I think that we can resolve the double meaning problem by including topics like Executive Order 10925 in the template (as they are relevant to the debate). I would suggest Template:USAA (United States Affirmative Action). Λυδαcιτγ 19:18, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
I agree that you are not one of the three most notable; the fact that your article is one of three reflects my ignorance of the topic. I would expect that there are other notable people related to AA with Wikipedia articles. Maybe you can find some to add to the template. But since you are notable enough to warrant an article, and since your notability comes from an AA-related complaint, I think it makes sense to include your article in the template.
I'll leave the choice of name and formatting up to you. Add any other links you feel would be useful, pick one of the two templates, and copy-and-paste the formatting into a template of your choice (please don't move the page, as I like to keep my userspace demarcated from template space). When you've done that I'll use WP:AWB to add the template to the bottom of its articles. Λυδαcιτγ 22:29, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
OK, all done. You'll notice I added the template to most of the articles that were on the original larger template. I assume you'll want to Template:db-author Template:Initiatives now.
By the way, are you really doing research in China this summer? Λυδαcιτγ 04:37, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unprod

Hi. I unprodded Hairy arm, which you prodded the other day. I explained why on the talk page.

To elaborate on the explination there... I can't say it's not a hoax. I honestly have never heard of it and couldn't find out anything about from google. I was curious if there's something you know about it that I don't, or if you (like me) are completely in the dark about the alleged subject. Mostly I felt it would be rude to remove a prod without mentioning it to you (eventhough you may already know). The article hasn't recieved a lot of attention these past 5½ years, so I'm not exactly gonna cry if "Hairy arm" ends up deleted. Anyway, have a nice day :) --Haikon 17:18, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for notifying me. I guess I'll put it up for AfD now. In fact, I don't know any more about the subject than you do. Like you, I couldn't find any mention of the term on Google. So even if it isn't a hoax, it is staggeringly non-notable. (Based on the history of the user, it doesn't seem to be a hoax.) --JianLi 20:20, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Rock n' roll. -Haikon 20:26, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Systematic bias and systemic bias

You have put mergeto tags on Systematic bias and Systemic bias with the effect of suggesting each should change its name to the other and the discussion should take place in two places. I have changed one of these to a mergefrom tag[1]; I hope that is what you intended. --Henrygb 07:16, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Actually, I wasn't sure which direction I wanted the merge to be in, which is why I made the merge bidirectional. So you've actually helped me make the decision. --JianLi 07:23, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
