Jiang Ping

Jiang Ping (Chinese character: 江平; Pinyin: Jiāng Píng; 1930 - ) is a legal scholar in China. He was the President of China University of Political Science and Law, and a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

Jiang Ping was born in 1930. He was admitted to Yenching University in 1948, and graduated from Moscow State University in 1956. After graduation, Jiang Ping joined the faculty of Beijing College of Political Science and Law.

Jiang became the President of China University of Political Science and Law in 1988. He resigned from the office in 1990 for his pro-student position in the June 4th incident.

Jiang Ping is an expert on civil law, especially Roman law.
