Jiading District

Jiading (Chinese: 嘉定區, pinyin:Jiādìng Qū) is one of the 18 districts of Shanghai, People's Republic of China. It has an area of 458.8 km², population of 474 100 (as of 2001) and is located about 20 km away from downtown Shanghai. It is connected to downtown by the Hujia Expressway, which was the first expressway in Shanghai.

Shanghai University has a campus in downdown Jiading, which is where SILC is based.

There is a pagoda in central Jiading.

The towns of Anting, Jiading, and Nanxiang belong to the district.
