Jessica Reisman

Jessica Reisman (born 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a speculative fiction writer, [1]workshop teacher, and editor.

The author of an array of short stories, novels, and scripts, Reisman writes in several genres, including science fiction, fantasy, and magic realism. Her first novel, The Z Radiant, was published by Five Star Speculative Fiction in 2004. Her SF story "Threads" received a Southeastern Science Fiction Achievement Award in 2003; a number of her stories have received honorable mentions in Gardner Dozois’ Year’s Best Science Fiction anthologies and in Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling’s Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror. She is a member of the Turkey City Writer's Workshop.

Reisman collaborated on radio-style plays performed live by [2]Salvage Vanguard Theater, including the Intergalactic Nemesis, which went on to yearly revivals and embarked on its first national tour in 2006.

She received a Masters degree in creative writing at the University of Texas in 1992, where she was the recipient of two [3]Michener Fellowships in Fiction and an assistant editor of [4]American Short Fiction.
