Jessica Morey

Jessica Morey is widely considered to be one of the emerging young leaders of the alternative energy policy movement in the United States. In the past few years she has worked as an international fellow for the Pew Center on Global Climate Change, and special assistant to former deputy secretary of energy William F. Martin. In January 2007, she became one of the youngest fellows at the World Bank to work in the renewable energy division.
Ms. Morey serves as an adviser to the president of the national energy company of Costa Rica (ICE) and in 2005, drafted a plan for Costa Rica to become the first fossil-fuel-free country in the world by the year 2020. Jessica is also a founding member of the Club of Prague [1] , a working group modeled after the Club of Rome that brings together policy makers, philosophers, writers, and energy experts on the issue of sustainable energy use and its prospects for the future. Several presidents of Japanese utility companies as well as former Czech president Vaclav Havel are among those in the group.
Ms. Morey graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College with a degree in Environmental Engineering and she holds M.A. degrees in natural resources & sustainable development from the University for Peace and international relations from American University. She is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships.
