Jessel Baronets
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There have been two Baronetcies created for people with the surname Jessel. The first Jessel Baronetcy, of Ladham in the County of Kent, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom in 1883 for Charles James Jessel. This was in honour of his father, the prominent lawyer and judge Sir George Jessel, Master of the Rolls from 1873 to 1883. The second Jessel Baronetcy, of Westminster in the County of London, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom in 1917 for the politician Herbert Jessel, the younger son of Sir George Jessel. He was elevated to the peerage as Baron Jessel in 1924 (see this title for more information).
