Jesse Underwood[1] McKinley (born 1971) is an American journalist who is the San Francisco bureau chief of The New York Times. Previously, he was an arts reporter at the Times.

McKinley is a son of James C. McKinley and Mary Ann McKinley. He is married to Lindsey Gates.

James C. McKinley, Jr., one of his brothers, is the Mexico City bureau chief of the Times.
