[edit] Basic Information
Greetings, childrens. My name's Sully, Wikipedia and Uncyclopedia addict, aspiring screenwriter, cell phone salesman, video game reviewer, and member of the Graduating Class of 1967 of the San Bernadino Academy for Ninja Arts and Sciences and Clown College. ((Did I mention I was a big fan of Uncyclopedia?)
I currently live in Indianapolis, Indiana with my cat and two roommates. I's single ladies! Ooh yeah.
[edit] Biography (as it were)
[edit] Birth & Family
I was born on April 25, 1978 in Mansfield, Ohio. It wasn't an easy birth and my mother hates me to this day. Oh, she won't admit it, but I can see it in her eyes. My dad is in advertising and my mom was a nurse, but she has a different job now. I'm not entirely sure what the hell it is, but she seems to like it enough that we've taken her off the medication. Ha ha, just kidding, Mom. I loves you.
I have one sister who looks a little like me, except better looking, which is good. They all live in Cincinnati, Ohio which is sort of one of the reasons why I don't.
The majority of my ancestry comes from Ireland and I am a huge fan or Irish culture and music. I currently host a montly Irish music night at the Melody Inn Tavern here in Indianapolis. I'll be traveling to Dublin this April.
[edit] Where I've Lived
So far I have lived in the following cities at one point or another.
- Minneapolis,Minnesota
- Pittsburg, Pennsylvania
- Naperville, Illinois
- Des Moines, Iowa
- Ames, Iowa
- Prairie du Chien,Wisconsin (For God's sake, don't even live there)
- Loveland, Ohio
I'm one of the few people I know who actually enjoys moving and living in new cities and I've tinkered with the idea of moving to Boston, Dublin, Ireland and Los Angeles.
[edit] Jobs
I've held a few jobs in my day, none of which are particularly glamorous, but have given me plenty of material for the screenplays I like to write, including
- Grocery store clerk
- Movie Theater usher
- Music store clerk
- Coffee maker (Never a Starbucks, though)
- Radio Shack slave
- Liqour store clerk
- Barbecue sandwhich maker
- Video game store manager
- Cell Phone sales manager
[edit] Education
I graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa in 1997 and attended Iowa State University for a few years. I keep thinking I may go back and get a degree, then I remember one of my best friends and my ex-wfe both have degrees and they're working really crummy jobs.
[edit] Other Tidbits
- I'm a bit of a barfly in a sense that my favorite hangouts are pretty much, well, bars. Some people think I have a drinking problem. I tell them I have no problems drinking whatsoever. It almost always makes it into my mouth and into my stomach and 99.9% of the time usually stays there.
- I'm a big movie buff, and especially fans of great writers and directors. Some of my favorites are Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, Akira Kurosawa, Luc Besson, Charlie Kauffman, Danny Boyle and Alex Garland. In fact, I'd say that Kauffman and Shane Black are two of my heroes: guys who write the movies they want and get them made. Joss Whedon is also pretty damn inspirational.
- I don't watch a lot of TV. If there's a good show with a lot of buzz, I generally wait for it to come out on DVD. I'm the same way with movies. I don't really like advertising, although I do admire well made ads quite a bit. Movie theater advertising is, to me, one of the biggest rip-offs ever known to man.
- I was married for a while.
- Chuck Norris facts were funny for a while. Now they're kind of annoying. Can we find a new stupid Internet phenomenon please?
- I currently help run the video game website BinaryCulture.net. We'll be going to E3 this year so look out for us. We'll be the ones who are drunk.
