[edit] Neutrality

This article reads like an advertisement. Hence the NPOV tag. I'm going to go through and try to clean it up.--Scïmïłar parley 19:21, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

  • I appreciate your efforts to improve its NPOV. But then, why only use comments from someone who admits he hasn't read my HAARP book, and negative ones at that? Is this some sort of a covert attack on me? Much of what was said about me on that other site has nothing to do with me -- and is not only inaccurate of what I said, but has basic HAARP facts wrong too. That fellow (you?) claims that HAARP can only be aimed straight up, but offical HAARP material says it can be steered across a 15 degree arc. I can take criticism, but not when it is pretended to be "neutral" commentary. Perhaps if you want to review my work you should read it first. --Jerry E. Smith 21:27, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

okay, I made changes to this page, increasing its neutrality, I hope. I wrote as fair and factual a description of my books as I can. I would urge those who want to change or delete this page to read my work before dismissing it. --Jerry E. Smith 22:00, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

    • I could care less about reviewing your work. Here's what I do know: credible encyclopedias don't treat conspiracy theorists/theorys with the same amount of respect that they give science. I've never even heard of you before today, but it annoys me to come across articles that seem to be advertising. Hence, I go the other way. As a sysop here, my interest is the credibility of this project; not your work.--Scïmïłar parley 22:44, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
Incidentally, I don't have any problem with your changes.--Scïmïłar parley 22:47, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
  • Scimitar, you do wonderful work! I really like this last cleanup of yours, thanks! Now I just hope it doesn't get deleted! --66.53.202.146 23:39, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
  • We seem to have solved the neutrality issue, can we remove that box now? --66.53.202.146 00:19, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
  • As Scïmïłar seems to have left the project, and since the article now seems largely cleaned of the causes for the tag, I am removing Template:NPOV from the article (of course, it could always be put back if someone new disagrees, or if the POV shifts from neutral again). --KGF0 ( T | C ) 01:14, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Published articles

Need proper citations for these articles (published where?)

BTW, Jerry, calm down. You are not under attack. We have policies here of which you seem to be largely unaware, and the sooner everyone gets a grip on them, the happier we'll all be. The key guideline of which you seem to have fallen afoul is Don't write articles about yourself. That is admittedly disputed, though that alone should be enough to show that violating it is going to get many people's panties in a bunch and put many others en garde. Note also that, should the article survive WP:AFD, you do not have any control over it whatsoever, aside from the same editorial access afforded any ol' schmoe who walks through the virtual door. Every time you edit anything, the following quote appears at the bottom of the page: If you don't want your writing to be edited and redistributed by others, do not submit it. Can't honestly say you weren't warned.

That said, we editors in general should make sure that any negative comments are supported at least as well as the positive ones - that is WP:NPOV and WP:V. --Kgf0 22:51, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

  • Thanks! I wrote a lengthy reply praising your work, then it went to electronic heaven when you posted your follow up comment... I calm now. I didn't mean to be a problem. I hadn't read the policies until after I ran afoul of 'em. Now I've learned. I have the citations for the articles. I'll try to get them posted shortly. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jerry E. Smith (talkcontribs).
