Jerusalem Governorate

The Jerusalem Governorates is the name given to a governorate situated at the middle of the West Bank. Its claimed capital and is Jerusalem (or East Jerusalem) where it's headquarter is located. The area of the governorate is 331.6 Quarter Km. However, East Jerusalem, as all Jerusalem, is under the full control of the State of Israel, and is annexed to Israel. Eventhough the PA doesn't control the area, Palestinian residents participate in PNA elections.

At the 2006 election for the Palestinian Legislative Council Hamas won the "open" seats. Fatah candidates won the seats reserved for Christians, one of them was Imil Jarjoui.
