Jerry StClaire
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jerry St Claire is one of many characters from the comic world of Peter Kay.
Jerry St Claire is a mate of Brian Potter. Jerry has made an appearance in That Peter Kay Thing, leading a role in Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights and having his back (not going into too many details) cameod in Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere.
His three favourite things are:
- His singing
- The club
- His audience
Jerry believes that he makes his own mind up, when strictly speaking, It's Brian Potter doing it all the time. He's a class A pushover, with Brian doing most of the pushing. He loves to sing, even though he must be tone death, because his singing is awful! But he shares a great passion with his audience...who are mostly old people. He's had to go through many things in his life and a colon therapy being one of them.
According to episode one of That Peter Kay Thing, Jerry was a once winner of the annual Talent Trek, before landing the job as the cabaret singer and compere in The Phoenix Club. He is often taken advantage of by Brian Potter, even he can see it sometimes. It went to an extreme at one point when Jerry had to undergo his colon therapy to see if he had any bowel problems. Jerry had the all clear, but Brian hatched a plan to get more people in the club by pretending he was dying, only then to announce he had the all clear at the end of the show. Jerry was considering leaving, but he decided to stay...until the club burnt down.
Jerry was working in ASDA, singing cheesy cover songs that have changed the words to match the product. He only laughed at Potter when he said that he was going to revive the Phoenix. Whilst he was popping his Herbal Medication pills for early morning stiffness, he then got a surprise from Brian, saying that the new Phoenix Club would be under his ownership. Of course, after a while Jerry realised this was one of Brian's schemes again... taking advantage of him as usual. Jerry is overall laid back and ready to undergo whatever life brings for him...even if it means shoving a camera up his buttocks.
