Jerry Speiser

Jerry Speiser was the drummer and co-founder of the hit 1980s Australian musical group Men at Work. In an early session, he played on Greg Sneddon's Mind Stroll album in 1979 (Sneddon was also part of the initial Men at Work lineup).

Following Men at Work's break-up in 1984, he shortly joined pop band FX (featuring keyboard-player John McCubbery), and then guitarist Ross Hannaford's One world band. In 1986 he and former Men at work producer and sound engineer Peter McIan had a short stint with an American band called The City where he played the drums while Peter played the keyboards and produced their album named Foundation, after that he mostly left the public eye, but in 2002 joined fellow Australian pop rockers FROST where he played the drums in the single You and me from their album The usual suspects.

Even today Jerry's drumming in Men at Work stands the test of time due to the unique way he tuned his drums, along with the aggressive ideas he played considering the genre. He stood out amongst the then flooded scene of pop, new wave, and punk bands who had drummers that were not as identifiable.

Jerry Speiser (Drums/vocals) and Ben Fitzgerald (Guitars/vocals) co-founded a guitar-driven style rock band named Where's Claire?. In 1990 they were joined by Andrew Midson (Bass/vocals) and Brenden Mason (Guitars/vocals). They released their first commercial album named Long Time Coming during the later part of 2002.
