Jerry Lawson (Jerome E. Lawson) born January 23, 1944 in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. Jerry was raised in Apopka, Florida. Jerry was the lead singer, arranger & producer of the world renowned a cappella group The Persuasions for 40 years. He left the group in 2003 & began working with developmentally disabled adults in Phoenix, Arizona while also working with Jazz quartets & R&B bands. He was planning a trip to Russia to record with the Moscow Philharmonic when fate revealed other plans.

Jerry ran into four brilliant vocalists who had been singing a cappella for 35 years in the San Francisco area. They told Jerry that their discovery of the Persuasions inspired them to form their group "Talk of the Town." For 35 years they said that all they were missing was a great lead singer like Jerry Lawson. They are still stunned that their paths intersected: now they have not just a lead singer like Jerry Lawson, but Jerry Lawson himself.

Jerry Lawson & Talk of the Town will release their debut CD in 2007, an ambitious project of 20 very diverse songs. You can hear three of them at Jerry's Myspace] This exceptional piece of work was produced by Jerry & Julie Hurwitz Lawson.
