Jerry Kirkpatrick

Jerry Kirkpatrick is professor of international business and marketing at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He is author of the 1994 book In Defense of Advertising: Arguments from Reason, Ethical Egoism, and Laissez-Faire Capitalism, which was recently reissued in paperback and eBook versions by TLJ Books. The hardcover edition was well received by the academic press. The Journal of Consumer affairs praised the book as "an important advancement in the theory of advertising and its relationship to society." The Southern Business and Economic Journal said it exhibited "a highly sophisticated theoretical thesis." And the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science said, "Well worth the read for any academic, practitioner, or researcher interested in advertising, the philosophy of science, marketing's background in economic exchange, or simply for its fine writing."
