Jerry Frei

Jerry Frei (1926 to 2001) was a college basketball coach at Oregon. From 1967 to 1971, he assumed that position and compiled a 22-29-2 record. Over his final two years, he went 11-10-1, but was forced to resign when he refused a booster demand regarding his assistant coaches being fired. He played college football at Wisconsin, where he was an all-american offensive lineman. He later served as an assistant coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
His son, Terry Frei, is the author of the book "Third down and a war to go".
