Jerry Belson

Jerry Belson (born in El Centro, California on July 8, 1938) [1] was a writer, director, and producer of Hollywood films for over forty years.

Some of Belson's writing credits include the Steven Spielberg films Always[2] and Close Encounters of the Third Kind[3], several episodes of The Dick Van Dyke Show[4] and Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., [5], and I Spy[6]

Additionally, Belson helped produce The Drew Carey Show,[7] The Norm Show[8], and The Tracey Ullman Show[9]

Jerry Belson passed away [10] in Los Angeles, California on October 10, 2006 after a long battle with prostate cancer. He is survived by his wife Jo Ann and three children.
