Jermaine Phillips (born March 27, 1979 in Roswell, Georgia) is an American football safety on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. Jermaine attended Georgia as a football player and was drafted in the 5th round (157 overall) by the Buccaneers in the 2002 NFL Draft. He took over the starting role when long time Buc John Lynch (who signed with the Denver Broncos) was released because of salary cap issues before the start of the 2004 season. In 2005 he helped the bucs have the overall #1 defense and to win the NFC South division.

From 1998-1999 he was one of Georgia's back up wide receivers. In 2000 he became a strong safety and was third on the team in total tackles with 85 and also had 2 interceptions. In 2001 he was first on his team in interceptions with 3 and forced fumbles with 4 and second on team with 80 tackles. He was invited to play in the 2002 Senior Bowl college all-star game. HIs major was health and physical education. His career stats are:

Jermaine was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 5th round (157 overall) in the 2002 NFL Draft. On December 24, 2006 he intercepted a career high 2 interceptions of Cleveland Browns quarterback Derek Anderson.
