Jeremy Spake

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jeremy Spake (born in Clacton-on-Sea, 1968) is a British television presenter.

Spake first appeared on television in 1996 as part of the fly-on-the-wall documentary series Airport, where he worked on a check-in desk for Aeroflot. His exaggerated camp manner easily made him the most high profile of the crew featured on the programme, so much so that the BBC hired him to become a television presenter of light entertainment in his own right. Other programmes he has presented include The Toughest Job In Britain, Holiday and City Hospital. He also works for children's charitable organisations such as the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) and "When you wish upon a star". He also appeared in Moscow for the BBC's 2000 Today programme, broadcast over the turn of the millennium. He presents a weekly satirical programme on Russian television, and oversees a management consultancy firm.

Spake is married, has two children, and can speak fluent Russian, amongst other languages.

[edit] Other Employment

He also worked for FedEx at Stansted Airport for approximately 2 years as an Operations Manager, resigning in mid 2005.

[edit] Trivia

He has, in a reference to his days at Aeroflot, the letters KGB as part of a personalised car number plate.
