Jeremy Lefroy

Jeremy Lefroy is a British Conservative politician.
Lefroy was selected as the Conservative Parliamentary spokesman for the Stafford constituency on 11 August 2006 and will fight the seat at the next general election.
He is currently the Conservative Councillor for the Westlands ward of Newcastle-under-Lyme Council. Since a Conservative-led joint administration with the Liberal Democrats took control from Labour in May 2006, he has been the Portfolio holder for Finance and Efficiency in the Borough.
Jeremy Lefroy was the Conservative Party Parliamentary candidate for Newcastle-under-Lyme in the general election of May 2005, losing to Labour's Paul Farrelly, the sitting MP. He polled 9945 votes, and saw a 2.7% swing from Labour to the Conservatives, as well as an 18% cut in Labour’s majority.
Lefroy also founded and runs Equity for Africa, a charitable trust which seeks to alleviate poverty in a self-sustaining way by creating jobs through investing in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Africa.
Lefroy is married to Janet, a local GP and lecturer at Keele University Medical School. Jeremy and Janet have two children, who are both at school in Newcastle.
