Jenny Jones (Green politician)

Jenny Jones is a politician in the United Kingdom. She is a member of the London Assembly, and was deputy Mayor of London from May 2003 to June 2004. She is a member of the Green Party of England and Wales.
Jones worked as financial controller in London. She attended University College London as a mature student doing archaeology.
Jones joined the Green Party in 1988 and was chair of the Green Party National Executive from 1995 to 1997. As member of the London Assembly since its inception, she has been especially active around issues of road safety. In the 2006 local elections, she was elected as a councillor for South Camberwell in the London Borough of Southwark, the Greens' first councillor in that borough.
