Jennifer Mosely

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jennifer Anne "Moze" Mosely (played by Lindsey Shaw) Ned's and Cookie's best friend in the TV show, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. Next-door neighbors, Ned gave her the nickname in the first grade, as there were three Jennifers around but only one "Moze." She is friends (eventually) with Suzie Crabgrass. She is very athletic and became co-captain of the Wolves' (the school's team) volleyball team. Moze is strong, somewhat insecure and a tomboy. Moze is a powerful girl and knows how to stand up to a bully or a psycho. When Ned and Cookie are in need of some tips, they sometimes turn to Moze, but, soon look for Gordy for some 'manly' advice. Even though her advice was made by the superior girl mind, as quoted by Moze in New Semester. She is fond of Math and Woodshop, and in fact crafted her own wooden locker door after Gordy destroyed the metal one. In Spain, where the show is known as Manual de Supervivencia Escolar de Ned, "Moze" is translated to "Maus."

[edit] Character history

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.
  • In "Dares," Moze was dared by Ned Bigby to wear a flowery dress which she got from the sewing club. She made 3 new friends which she thought were robots because of the wires on the bottom of the purse, the fake arm, and they were shaking when they were wet with water from the inflatable pool. Moze told the friends that they were robots and they said "Maybe we get shaken when we are wet, maybe June has a face tic, maybe Julie's into electronics, or maybe I have a prosthetic arm! You insensitive clod. You stink, Jennifer Mosley!" and left her. They apparently weren't robots.
  • In "Bad Habits," Moze learned about her bad habit as a trash talking pottymouth. She first tried to be nice and avoid trash-talking, but her team got killed. Then she tried to trash-talk in Dutch, but since Coach Joy Dirga had a meeting, the substitute coach/referee was a Dutch person, it failed and she was out of the game. Finally, she taped her mouth to muffle the trash talk and it succeeded because nobody heard her and she didn't get herself out kicked out of the game.
  • She had a crush on Seth Powers, which seemed to wane as she secretly tutored him in reading.
  • Her interest in Jock Goldman was even shorter, as she discovered he was using her to get his real girlfriend, Amy Cassidy, jealous.
  • In the 3rd season she has developed a huge, awkward and at times, painful, crush on Portuguese Exchange Student Faymen Phorchin.
  • It has always been suspected that there are some true feelings between Ned and Moze.
  • In the segment "Rumors," a rumor is started that Ned likes Moze. It is during this time that it is stated that Moze doesn't feel that way toward Ned and vice versa.
  • Later their possible relationship arises in the segment "Yearbook," in which Ned spends so much time with Moze in order to save her from Jock Goldman, who Ned believes will again hurt her emotionally. Due to his actions, the two are voted best couple in the yearbook.
  • The next sign of this relationship would have to be the season finale "Double Dating & The Last Day". In the first half of the episode, Ned becomes Suzie Crabgrass' official boyfriend. Suzie and Ned have not kissed yet but she admits to Moze that she is going to let him kiss her at the end of year dance. Ned tries to kiss during the dance what he believes to be Suzie but ends up to be Moze. The two tell Suzie about the kiss in the second half of the episode. After telling Suzie the truth, both agree that the kiss meant nothing. As they waited in the bus, they kiss again and still saying it meant nothing. This was also forshadowed in an earlier episode when Ned was predicted by the lunch lady to kiss his true love at the dance.
  • During the third season another "hint" of this relationship is in the short Social Studies where Ned and Moze are partners for a project, but Ned spends so much time with Suzie that he blows off Moze who becomes jealous. In the end it's resolved, but it shows how much Ned cares for Moze when he tells Suzie that Friday night is his and Moze's movie, video game, pizza night (not shown on-screen) and he gets beaten up.
  • Moze is the only girl Ned has called beautiful.
  • After Suzie moves, Ned is looking for a new girlfriend. Whenever he describes his type of girl, he says he wants someone nice, smart, good at sports, like to have fun, not afraid to be demanding... Moze fits the description so well that after he is done with the description she appears to be glowing with choir music playing. The first two times this happened, the light was just Gordy testing the choir-room lights while the choir was practicing nearby. The third time however, Gordy and the choir were not present, meaning that Moze might be Ned's new girlfriend. Nick has confirmed that Moze is Ned's new girlfriend

She also shows a mild affection towards Faymen. The above is because of Ned and Suzie's break-up in "Guide to: Cellphones & Woodshop", when Suzie Crabgrass thinks they're breaking up, when he's losing reception. She says that if Ned hangs up on her again, she'll dump him, and she did. In Positives & Negatives and Parties, Moze (Lindsey Shaw) finds out Faymen's kisses lack spark -- and she tries to plant one on Ned (Devon Werkheiser) during "Spin the Bottle." Party-goer Ned tries to shake his date, Missy (Carlie Casey), when Suzie (Christian Serratos) arrives.

Spoilers end here.
