Jenni Trent Hughes

Jenni Trent Hughes is an American life strategist, coach and agony aunt, who specialises in relationships and family issues. She is also a successful TV and radio broadcaster, author and magazine columnist. Although born in Jamaica, Hughes now lives and works mainly in the UK.
Her career began, and still continues, in radio. She has been a regular panellist on Radio Five Live’s Late Night Live for several years. She has appeared on Woman's Hour and several political/social discussion programmes on BBC Radio 4 and on BBC stations throughout Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England. She also reviews television programmes on The Simon Mayo Show and occasionally with Brian Hayes on his LBC programme.
In 2002 Hughes was recruited as the co-presenter and relationship expert of the Channel 4 series Perfect Match. The first series won the prestigious Silver Rose at Montreux award in 2002, while the second series also garnered much publicity, with one episode voted as one of the 100 Top Telly Moments for 2002.
She regularly appears on Channel 4's Big Brother's Little Brother (the spin-off show to the popular reality TV programme Big Brother), as a social commentator, and also writes a Big Brother related column for the online media entertainment website, Digital Spy. She has also provided commentary for the Sky television production When Celebrities Attract, as well as for several other celebrity based documentries. In 2003 Hughes presented Dinner Doctors on Channel 5 with Anneka Rice. She has also appeared in CH4’s Diet Another Day and co-presented Get A Life on BBC1’s Heaven and Earth. In 2005 Hughes teamed up with GMTV's Fiona Phillips to present the programme Toddler Taming on Discovery and she also contributed to a daily wedding feature for ITV’s This Morning, as well as ITV’s First Wives Club. She appears regularly as an advisory guest on GMTV, LK-Today, This Morning, and CH4’s Richard and Judy speaking on relationship, family, career and political issues. Hughes was also one of the regular presenters for two series of the live talk show Loose Women on ITV, and Girl’s Talk (Granada’s health-oriented version of the programme). In 2004 and 2005, Hughes was one of many celebrity females who provided commentary for the successful BBC2 series Grumpy Old Women.
She is also a columnist for Red magazine and is the author of Tough Talk Made Easy: 101 Difficult Conversations and How to Have Them.
Hughes was the agony aunt for the popular women's website handbag.com for over 3 years, but has since left and started her own advice website (TeaAndABiscuit.com). She was once listed in the Mail On Sunday’s YOU magazine as ‘one of the leading women on the internet’.
