Jenkem
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jenkem is a methane-based dissociative hallucinogen popular amongst the street children of Zambia.
No one knows how or when the children first began manufacturing jenkem, but according to the BBC it has been around since at least 1997.
Its effects last for around an hour and consists of auditory and visual hallucinations. The raw materials are plentiful and freely available in the form of fecal matter from the open sewers of the major towns, e.g. Lusaka. This is then fermented in containers and the fumes are inhaled.
There has yet to be an experience report for jenkem on Erowid.
