Jehoel
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jehoel (also called Jahoel, Shemuel, Kemual, and Yaoel) in Jewish Angelology is a member of the Angels of Presence, who mediates the ineffable name of God.[1] The name Jehoel may have been an early form of Metatron. Jehoel is said to be the chief angel of the Seraphim,[2] and governs heavenly singing. He is responsible for holding in check Leviathan,[3] the monster of evil who will swallow the souls of sinners on Judgement Day.[4]
