[edit] KATU

With all of the former personalities current employment is listed...whether in television or at Microsoft. Is there an issue with having current employment for Jeffrey Babcock listed?

The KATU article is about the television station. Current acceptable practice is to list the personalities seen on-screen—instead of more important items like producer and owner bias, etc.—which is inline with the station's own self-promotional practice. The detailed history of other personalities is limited within the broadcast industry and vague outside it. (I don't agree with that much being there, but it does seem reasonable to link to another article about a similar role, given the emphasis on station talent.) For example, Julie Emry's present occupation, volunteer schedule, and pastimes are inappropriate. If Jeffrey Babcock still was at KATU, it's appropriate to mention what else he does, particularly how it applies to KATU. But, as he has left, about all that is appropriate is that he left and the general reason for it, unless noteworthy. In no case could an external link be justified for an issue of tertiary importance to an article about the station (#1 station talent, #2 former talent, #3 what they're doing now). Clearly that would be of primary importance to an article about Jeffrey Babcock, but doesn't fit here. —EncMstr 22:29, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
