Plymouth County Commissioner Jeffrey M. Welch

Jeffrey M. Welch (b. December 21, 1976) is chairman of the Plymouth County Commissioners in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He is a member of the Democratic Party.

Elected in 2004, by narrowly defeating incumbent Peter G. Asiaf, Jr. by 78 votes, Commissioner Welch is the youngest Plymouth County Commissioner ever elected. He is a graduate of Abington High School and the University of Massachustts at Amherst.

Prior to being elected to the board of County Commissioners, he was a member of the Abington Zoning Board of Appeals, serving from 1999 - 2005. In January 2007, Welch was elected to a second one-year term as chairman of the Commissioners.
