Jeffrey Meek (born Jeffrey William Meek on February 11, 1959) is an American actor.

[edit] Early life

Meek and his family moved often; as a child, Meek lived in Zweibrücken (Germany), Michigan, Texas, New York and San Francisco.

Meek graduated from Arlington High School in Riverside, California, and attended the University of California at Irvine. After graduating from UCI with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama in 1983, he then moved to New York City to pursue a career on Broadway.

His first notable acting role was in 1984, when he was cast as Quinn McCleary on the New York-based soap opera Search for Tomorrow. He remained on the program until its cancellation in 1986.

Meek returned to California, and appeared in several film and television roles, including Mortal Kombat: Conquest, in which he played the thunder god Raiden and the supreme antagonist Shao Kahn. He gained a fan following after appearing on the syndicated martial arts series Raven.

In September 2006, Meek joined As The World Turns in the contract role of Craig Montgomery, making him the third actor to portray the role after Scott Bryce and Hunt Block.

  • Meek has continued to be active in theatre.
  • He is also an accomplished athlete. In addition to basketball and golf, he has a black belt in TKD and aikido.
  • Meek is married and lives with his wife in Los Angeles.
  • During Meek's time in New York, he also fronted a rock band, Crime.
