Jeffrey D. Cook

Through articles, speeches, a website, and significant media attention beginning in 1997 and ending in 2006, Jeffrey David Cook was among the first college counseling professionals in the United States to nationally address issues affecting gay students in the college search process.

Cook wrote the cover story for the Fall 2002 issue of The Journal of College Admission [1].

Cook was born to Charles D. Cook and the former Dorothy M. Behrens in Oneonta, New York, and grew up in nearby Delhi, New York, a small town in the Catskill Mountains. He graduated from Delaware Academy before earning a bachelor's degree at Hartwick College, where he majored in political science. Later, he attended the University of San Francisco, graduating with a master's degree in nonprofit administration.

Cook currently serves as a senior manager in University Advancement at California State University, Fullerton, and teaches nonprofit marketing and communications at California State University, East Bay.
