Jeffrey Coho

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jeffrey Coho, played by Craig Bierko, is a lawyer on the ABC dramedy Boston Legal. He first appeared with Claire Simms (Constance Zimmer) in the second episode of season 3, "The New Kids on the Block," as transfers to Crane, Poole, and Schmidt's Boston headquarters from the firm's New York office.

Coho's first case was representing Scott Little as part of a multi-episode arc about Little's murder trial.

[edit] Character

Jeffrey Coho is a glib, fast-talking attorney whose eccentricities mirror some of those of his colleagues. While he often has the forward demeanor of Alan Shore, there is an anger and persistence similar to Brad Chase, whom he appears to despise on the show and regularly fights (both mentally and physically). Like Alan, Jeffrey always appears to have a comeback at hand, and when he can't think of anything to say, he refers to his default phrase, which is "Go screw yourself. Do I need to include instructions with that?"

He engaged in sexual relations with Denise Bauer while she was also seeing Brad Chase. When she became pregnant, an unsure Denise asked the men to take paternity tests. Brad was found to be the father, which appeared to be one of the main causes of Jeffrey's leaving Crane, Poole, and Schmidt. He had secretly hoped that the baby was his, in part because it would have allowed him to make up for not having spent enough time with his daughter.

Brad Chase identified Jeffrey Coho as a liberal.

In episode 15 of season 3, "Fat Burner," Coho resigned from Crane, Poole, and Schmidt. However, he has indicated that he will remain in Boston, leaving the door open for further appearances on the show.
