[edit] Career on the Howard Stern Show

Jeff's first appearance on The Howard Stern Show was on December 16, 1998 (he won the Playboy Playmate version of The Homeless Game). Curro became a Stern Show regular after winning anal sex with adult film star Tabitha Stevens and being unable to become aroused due to his inebriation. Later, the Stern Show caught porn star Cindy Crawford crying hysterically after having sex with Curro.

For several years during Curro's contact with the show, Curro had not worked regularly except for seasonal work collecting tolls at a toll booth and stamping hands at a local swimming pool. Regarding the hand stamping job, Curro claimed, "They didn't fire me. They just didn't rehire me." Curro's income is supplemented through SSI. In September 2006, Jeff was hired as a "door opener" at Nichol's Market in Voorheesville, New York, although he recently lost this job due to a change in management which resulted in job cuts.

In dire need of money during his unemployment, Stern Show staff member Artie Lange offered Jeff $200 for each appearance he made in support of Artie Lange's movie Beer League. During the week of August 14, 2006, Lange made an agreement with Curro to "front" him $600 (for the 3 appearances) to help him pay an overdue insurance bill. Lange said he'd get it in the mail as soon as time would allow.

On August 21, Artie Lange made a comment during the Howard Stern Show about receiving a series of voicemails from an angry Jeff the Drunk. Curro complained that he had not received the money on Friday - he had expected Lange to overnight the $600 "advance". The money arrived on Saturday, but Curro was still angry and told Lange "fuck off" and "don't you even care about me? I NEED MONEY!" Lange, in turn, was enraged at Curro's ingratitude.

On September 11, 2006, Curro called and left a message for Gary, the Howard Stern Show producer, saying that he would not go to the premiere of Lange's Beer League. Curro further said that even if Lange were to pay him to go and send him in a limo and the "whole nine yards", he wouldn't be caught dead there. He signed off with "FUCK YOU ARTIE". Lange later related how angry he was that he was receiving this treatment from Curro, after all Lange had done for him. Lange signed off with "I fucking hate you Jeff, and I hope you die!"

[edit] Alcoholism and drug use

Curro lost the use of his right arm in a car accident on October 4, 1986.[1] On the Sirius Howard 100 program Meet The Shrink, Curro revealed that it was an alcohol-related accident and that the loss of the use of his arm caused him to drink even more. Curro enjoys cigarettes and marijuana in addition to alcohol.

In May 2005 Jeff was given a 1991 Chevy Lumina by a local car dealer in exchange for a plug on the Howard Stern Show despite the fact that the legal status of Jeff's driver's license was in doubt. That November, Curro got his driver's license back after years of suspension for past DUIs. Soon afterwards, he struck and killed a deer on the highway. Howard berated him on the show for killing a creature "more valuable to the planet than Curro himself".

On the July 31, 2006 Howard Stern Show, Jeff called in and revealed that on the previous Saturday night, he again was arrested for DUI and had his license revoked. Jeff stated that after having about ten beers at a friend's house he drove about ten miles before being stopped by police and that his blood alcohol content was 'one-one', meaning 0.11%. The police fingerprinted Jeff, impounded his car, and released him.

On September 28, 2006, Jeff was forced to surrender his license plates as a result of another alleged DUI.

[edit] Notable moments on the Howard Stern Show

Curro rarely appears on the show; however, his appearances have been considered by many to be memorable, including:

  • Lost his balance and fell over head first into a wall in the lobby, which was filmed and played on Stern's E! show
  • Participated in an event on the Stern Show entitled 'Stuck on You', a parody of the 2004 film of the same name. In the event, Curro was handcuffed wrist-to-wrist to a female contestant. If after 5 days she had remained cuffed to Curro, she would win $20,000. During the event, Curro drank excessively to the point that he was kicked out of a bar, collapsed, and passed out in the middle of a busy street in Manhattan. Curro also suffered several severe coughing fits, presumably caused by his heavy smoking habit, and smoked several marijuana joints in the presence of the contestant's young son.
  • Competed in a trivia competition entitled 'Butt Billionaire', in which the winner would perform anal sex on a stripper. Curro lost.
  • Revealed that he had been involved in a police pursuit that ended with him driving into a cornfield and having his license suspended.
  • After a confrontation with Stern on his show, Curro refused to leave the building and remained in the Green Room. Show producers Sal Governale, Will Murray, and Richard Christy then taped Curro to a door with duct tape.
  • While leaving the Stern building, Curro swung his bag at a cameraman and hit himself on the head, causing him to nearly lose his balance and fall.
