Jeff Wentworth
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Earl Jeffrey “Jeff” Wentworth[1] (born November 20, 1940)[2] is a Republican member of the Texas Senate from the 25th District, based about San Antonio to the north. He has been in the Senate since 1993.
In 2002, Wentworth had a close primary challenge waged by the then conservative state Representative John Shields of San Antonio, son-in-law of the popular businessman Red McCombs.
In 1986, Wentworth was defeated when he was the Republican nominee against the Democrat Judith Zaffirini of the 31st District, based in Laredo. They were since placed in separate districts and have been senatorial colleagues since 1993.
