Jeff Pentland

Jeffrey William Pentland (born September 8, 1946 in Hollywood, California) is the hitting coach for the Seattle Mariners. 2006 is his tenth season as a Major League Baseball hitting coach and first with the Mariners. He previously worked as the Chicago Cubs' hitting coach from 1997-2002 and the Kansas City Royals' hitting coach from 2003-05.

Pentland was a member of the Arizona State University Sun Devils 1967 National Championship baseball team along with fellow teammates including future big leaguers Reggie Jackson, Duffy Dyer and Gary Gentry. in 2002, Pentland was inducted into the ASU Hall of Fame.

Jeff Pentland is often credited as a major influence in the development of Sammy Sosa.

Pentland resides in Tempe, Arizona
