Jeff Hughes is a footballer from Northern Ireland. He currently plays for Lincoln City F.C., after previously playing in the Irish League with Larne and Ballymena. He also recently made his international debut for Northern Ireland debut during their summer tour of the USA.
He was originally deployed in the left-back position, however under John Schofield at Lincoln, he has proven that he is equally adept at playing a more attacking role as a wing-back and a winger on the left side.
Hughes, like fellow Lincoln City youngsters, Lee Frecklington and Lee Beevers, has had attention from several higher profile clubs. He has been watched by scouts from the rising Cardiff City, fallen giants Leeds United, Paul Jewell's Wigan Athletic, Premiership newcomers Sheffield United and European-competition chasing Premiership stormers Portsmouth.
