Jeff Fort

Jeff Fort was born in Aberdeen, Mississippi on February 20, 1947. He had accomplished to be the youngest leader of Chicago most famous gang. His parent had moved from Mississippi to Chicago during the Great Migration. His parents and ten siblings moved into an apartment building in woodland located at 6536 Blackstone Ave. The neighborhood was mostly whites, but they begun to move out of the city and into the suburbs. Fort went to Hyde Park High school but had dropped out of school before receiving a degree. Fort was involved in a gang from Blackstone Ave, at the age of 13 were they would fight with white boys in the neighborhood. Fort had joined up with Eugene “Bull” Hariston gang, which was called the Blackstone Raiders but was changed to the Blackstone Rangers. The Blackstone Rangers was one of the most dangerous street gangs in America in 1968. The gang was involved in many crimes such as petty theft, assault and armed robbery. Fort was acknowledged as a leader of the gang at a young age. Fort was very influential on his gang and to his community that any thing that he said or asked was done. Jeff Fort became a leader of the of the Blackstone rangers in 1968, the gang was later know as the Black P Stone Nation. In 1976 Fort had joined the Moorish Science Temple of America located in Milwaukee after he was paroled form prison. In 1978 Jeff Fort had come back to Chicago and changed the name of his gang to El Ruken, the gang grew to become even more stronger and would control drug traffic on the south side of Chicago. Jeff Ford had lived in a house at 6417 S. Kenwood, a lot of the member in the gang had also stayed there. The house was always monitored by the Chicago police. Jeff Fort is currently serving a life sentence in federal prison where he continues to be a great influence on his gang.
